Planting Yourself Firmly On Solid Rock By Tiffany Garigan
“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.” Matthew 7:24-27
Ask yourself a question, what does it mean to be founded on the Solid Rock?
Well, first what is Solid Rock? The answer is Jesus. To be founded on the Solid Rock means to have a relationship with God so strong, so deep, that when storms of life come, you don’t waiver, you only stand firm on the Solid Rock.
I found Jesus to be my own Solid Rock and unwavering foundation when I experienced life-threatening blood clots that caused an anoxic brain injury in 2012.
My injury was so severe that I was put on life-support, resuscitated twice, and given two hours to live, that was in 2012! The clotting caused me to lose oxygen and blood flow to my brain. I lost all mobility, went completely blind and now I live with Epilepsy.
Throughout my recovery, the wind blew and beat on this house, but I did not fall. As I got better, I began to understand what it means to be built on the Solid Rock. So many times, my faith has been tested over these years since 2012.
There were days I felt like my house was built on sand. Some of these days were when I received doctor’s reports that didn’t align with what I wanted when I was weak and tired. I wanted to get on with the life I knew as soon as possible.

God had another plan, He needed me to know that He brought me out and that it is not quick healing, but rather a test of faith and commitment to Him.
Have you been tested and had to plant yourself firmly on the Solid Rock? How did it go? Establishing God as your foundation isn’t always smooth sailing. Tests come just like the storm with rain, floods, and wind. Will you stand?
Here are some practical tips on how
to be founded on the Solid Rock:
1. Seek God through conversation daily, pray to Him and listen as He speaks.
2. Establish your foundation constantly, when any type of storm comes, seek God and plant in Him.
3. Search for a Word that God has for you in any season you may be in, there’s always an on-time Word.
4. Know who you are and who’s you are.
5. Commit to yourself and God!

Always remember God created you and He created you for a purpose. He needs you to fulfill the job He has for you in His kingdom. If your house should sink, who will you become? Will you give up? Will you remain found in the Solid Rock and be who God has called you to be?
This is my testimony and special encounter with God.
However, you do not have to be a medical miracle, brain injury survivor, go blind, and have seizures to experience and live in the full healing of God.
