Heartful Tips On Living Out Our Faith As Christian Woman Entrepreneurs By Rachael Munyawarara

Should our Christian faith be a secret in our entrepreneurial business ventures or should ‘The Secret’ be the heart and mission of our work?


As a Christian we have a Golden Secret, the promise of eternity. This forms the basis of our earthly walk with Christ. The question is do we believe it and live it out each day in our interactions with others. Does our business incorporate all of God’s promises and influence our decisions daily?



My husband recently said, “It's very easy to identify a Christian but it is very hard to become one!” This made me think of this month’s Kingdom Women Entrepreneur’s topic about living out God's word in our work as a “living walking Epistle”. The difficulty of this task lies on how seriously we take our faith and to what length we are prepared to go to be true witnesses in the world.


In Psalm 16 it says “Keep me safe, O mighty God. I run for dear life to you, my safe place. So I said to the Lord God, ‘You are my Maker, my Mediator, and my Master, Any good thing you find in me has come from you.” This is a powerful passage.


When you contemplate God’s Word you come to realise that in allowing God to be our Maker, Mediator & Master we always need to allow every decision to be for His glory throughout our day.


Let us engage with our clients and customers in a way that displays our spirit of love and generosity. Let us radiate integrity & authenticity as we become a living, walking epistle. William J. Toms expressed this perfectly when he said 'Be careful how you live. You may be the only Bible some person ever reads.'


I was asked recently that if I were an animal what would I be and I immediately wrote down a kookaburra. For what reason? At the time I wasn’t sure! I had never been asked that question, but I knew that I LOVED kookaburras. They captivate me and I could watch them for hours.


When I did some research on kookaburra’s I found out that they are a ‘unique bird that symbolise laughter, happiness, joy, pleasure, amusement, the bright side of life, optimism, community, family, good parenting, help, fidelity, monogamy, teamwork, humour, unity, healing & cheekiness.’ (Oxford dictionary).


Doesn’t this sound like the Christian that is easily recognised, yet hard to become?



As a Heartfulness Coach I guide women daily on making small positive steps towards living wholehearted lives and being true to themselves so let me share some Heartful tips on living out our Christianity in our business; through what I’m going to call my



KOOKABURRA CONCEPT



1. Start your day well

smile as you open your eyes, you have been given another day and, what a joy it is to be alive. Immerse yourself in gentle prayer, ask our Lord to guide your thoughts, words, and actions throughout the day, and add a dash of amusement to even the most mundane tasks. Cheerfulness is key, so be sure to brush your teeth and dress in optimism.


2. Show up in your business

knowing that your skills and successes are all a gift from God.

Those who come alongside you in business know what you stand for, know your values and core beliefs and respect you for them, they always know what to expect from you and can rely on your word.


3. Always show respect to those who work with you

and leave them feeling loved and understood. As Maya Angelou shared with so much wisdom “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel”


4. Serve your clients well

Jesus showed us that to serve others is a sign of great love and strength.

Saint Mother Teresa once said when we stop giving, we stop loving, when we stop loving, we stop growing, and unless we grow, we will never attain personal fulfillment; we will never open out to receive the life of God. It is through love we encounter God.”


5. Never forget God’s promises to us and His Golden Secret.

Sometimes it’s hard to remain faithful in a world with so many mixed messages, so many opinions, so much pain and suffering but surround yourself with faithful women in loving and supportive groups like Kingdom Women Entrepreneurs and never let doubt and destruction enter your heart, mind or business.


Let me end with the continuation of this beautiful Psalm,


“Lord, I have chosen you alone as my inheritance. You are my prize, my pleasure, and my portion. I leave my destiny and its timing in your hands. Your pleasant path leads me to pleasant places. I’m overwhelmed by the privileges that come with following you, for you have given me the best!” (Psalm 16).
