The Feather In The Sand By Michelle Mura

Everything that happens in life can often lead us to unfamiliar ground.

Sometimes this may be in the form of natural events that occur, decisions we make which can lead to these events or just the essence of the season which may lead us to unfamiliar ground.

However what is the purpose of the unfamiliar ground and what is it supposed to bring out?

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as

a prophet to the nations."

- Jeremiah 1:1

In the above verse it is so plainly put, our identity was shaped and created by God almighty, therefore even in the midst of the unfamiliar ground just like a feather in the sand, it will always stand out because it is not of the fabric of the sand.

We were created not to conform but to stand out, we have a naturally woven identity in us to birth out what we desire. Whether this is through the mind pattern of thinking or through our words, essentially our words carry power and creative ability in which what we say shall come to pass and what we dwell on long enough materialises.

I guess this is like the old tale we hear about ‘Never go to bed angry’ in-essence it is absolutely true because what is not dealt with immediately can form a root in the long run.

But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor - Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), The Holy Spirit,

whom the Father will send in My name

[in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf],

He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.

- John 14:26

You may ask what does this have to do with the title ‘the feather in the sand’.

The feather in the sand was only supposed to be there for a short period of time. The feather was meant to ask the Father what its’ purpose was and in turn to fulfil that purpose, learn what needs to be done and then move forward onto where it is journing to.

Likewise with our lives, this year recognise the season you are in, observe the space around you and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you what your purpose is in that friendship, in that workspace, in the connect group, in that environment and allow the Holy Spirit to help you fulfil your assignment.

However one important thing to remember is to let your ‘No’ be a no and your ‘Yes’ be a yes. All this to say, live your life on purpose and let everything you do be intentional because as a tree is planted by the rivers of water to bring forth fruit, likewise we are set apart for the master’s use.
